Through the faithful giving of many church members, God has gifted us amazing resources for ministry at St Marys. In order to continue with our vision of making Jesus known, getting to know Jesus better and sharing Jesus’ love with our community and world, we need your help, be it with your time and energy, your prayers or financially.
Whether you are a regular giver looking for a something to replace weekly envelopes, or are new to donating, the following methods will work despite the pandemic:
Bank transfer/standing order: Most banks offer the ability to make one-off or regular payments through their websites and apps. Our bank details are:

Online with Parish Giving Scheme - one-off or monthly: The Parish Giving Scheme (PGS) is run by Church of England and offers both one-off donations by card, or monthly giving by Direct Debit. PGS is tax efficient with eligible Gift Aid automatically claimed, and you can even set up your regular giving to increase in line with inflation. You can donate/set this up online or call 0333 002 1271 (you will need to know our PGS code: 170617200).
Collection Plate: at the end of Sunday services, a collection plate will be put out by the exits so you put in your gift as you leave
Cheques: can be made payable to"Horsell PCC", and can be sent to the home of our treasurer David Leach at Holmer Bank, Bury Lane, Woking, GU21 4RR
If you are a taxpayer and donate directly, please fill out this form and return it to the Gift Aid Secretary by email, or to the treasurer's address above to allow us to claim Gift Aid on your donation. This will increase your gift by 25p for every £1 given (at current rate), at no extra cost to you or us. |
How much does it cost to run our church?
To continue and grow the work of St Marys is budgeted to cost £174,000 this year. It requires us all to seek God’s guidance on how to use the resources with which we are all blessed.
Parish Share is paid to Guildford Diocese and covers the cost of:
- our vicar and the vicarage (including training our future vicar)
- training for all church ministry roles
- support and advice for the PCC
- Safeguarding

We receive no government support. Our parish relies upon the generous financial support from our church members, and around 60% of our income comes through regular planned giving and associated gift aid.
