Donations for Ukraine
Most needed items are:
- Food: tins with ring pulls, pasta and rice, protein bars, packets of dry fruit, instant noodles, soup powders, anything that can be easily rehydrated.
- Medical: Painkillers, cold, cough, flu, fever relief. Wound care.
- Practical: Sleeping bags, flashlights, torches, batteries, power banks, candles. Toiletries, personal hygiene, baby care.
- We have been asked to help with clothing for an orphanage looking after 50 evacuated children, they need clothing for 1-14 year olds.
If you wish to come and help with sorting donations you are most welcome to join us. We are a friendly group of volunteers, we have great fun working together and break for tea/coffee too! Keep an eye on weekly updates, and also on our Facebook page.
To donate money to the Ukrainian appeal, you can give to The Disasters Emergency Committee which is an umbrella group of UK charities which coordinates and launches collective appeals to raise funds to provide emergency aid and rapid relief to people caught up in disasters and humanitarian crises around the world.
We've collated some prayers you may wish to use to pray for peace and for the peoples of Ukraine and Russia, and reflect on the Christian call to be peacemakers.
