Lent Lunches- Churches together in Woking

The annual series of ecumenical Lent Lunches supporting Christian Aid begins this coming Friday, 24th February, and for the following five Fridays during Lent. A simple lunch of soup, bread and cheese and a cup of tea is provided from 12.00 until 1.30, with a ‘Pause for Thought’ at 12.45 when we reflect on a Lenten theme. It offers a chance to share our pilgrimage towards Easter with Christians of other denominations.

This year the lunches are being held at St.Dunstan’s Church, Shaftesbury Road. Everyone is welcome to come as often as they can.

Our team from St. Mary’s will be preparing the lunch on Friday March 2nd.

Concert St. Mary's

For your diaries there is a concert with the Weybridge Male Voice Choir at St Mary’s on Saturday 25th February at 7.30pm. Tickets available from Michael Couper, £10 per adult and £5 for children. Adult ticket includes a glass of wine. Proceeds for Woking Community Transport and Woking Lions.

Lent Course 2012

We are planning  to run Module 2 of Living Your Faith, a discipleship course developed by the Diocese of Guildford. It is entitled ‘Roots of Faith’ and will explore the Bible. You do not need to have attended Module 1. Each unit stands alone.

It will run for five Tuesdays, starting on February 28th. There will be one session in the afternoon, 1.30 - 3pm, and if there is sufficient interest, a meeting on Tuesday evenings, 8 - 9.30pm.

There will be a leaflet giving more details from next Sunday plus a list at the back of the North Aisle to sign to express interest.

Please ask Rod, Alison or Michael Couper for further information.
