Invitation, and a correction! - Inca Trail Slide show
Please come and join me on Wednesday 8th October 2008 (NOT September as in Horsell Matters) for a talk and slide show to celebrate my adventures in Peru last August.
I raised over £2750 for the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) by undertaking this gruelling trek along the Inca Trail from 2-11 August 2007. The talk starts at 7.30pm and will aim to finish at 8.30pm. It will take place at St Mary’s.
Light refreshments will be served in the St Andrew’s room afterwards. Look forward to see you all then, Julie Moffatt.

Heritage Open Days
Across the country and across Woking, various sites of historic interest are open over next weekend - Sept 12th-14th. St. Mary’s is open to visitors on Friday 12th from 10-12noon (we have a wedding in the afternoon). We’re open on Saturday 13th from 10-4pm and again on Sunday from 2-5pm with the tower also open to visitors. We need people to be on duty to welcome visitors and for safety reasons also have someone on duty at the top of the tower. We will have leaflets for visitors to take and explanatory notices around the church. If you can help with the rota, please put your name in some slots on the notice sheet at the back of church today.

Mothers’ Union
Wednesday 17th. September  at  2pm in the St. Andrew’s Room. Our speaker will be Rosemary  Gooding and her topic is “Evangelism - is it for me? “ Visitors and friends are always most welcome.

Pantomime
This year it is ALLADIN at the Victoria Theatre Woking. Some seats have been reserved in the centre stalls for Wednesday afternoon January 7th.09 at the special Group price of £18, payable by  September 30th. Please put your names down and number of seats required on the list at the back of the church or in the St. Andrew’s room. Any queries please contact June or Frank Osborne .Please treat this as urgent.

Note! next Family Services
This takes place on October 5th at 11am (note time). It is the annual Harvest service, during which we bring food gifts which are then given to the York Road Project for the homeless. There is a bring and share Harvest lunch after the Harvest service.
At the Family Service on November 2nd at 10am we aim to explore further the gifts and talents God has given each of us. Many (160+) completed a brief questionnaire last autumn which helped highlight our individual areas of strength. We want to explore this a little more, so if you can find your ‘results’ sheet, bring it that Sunday, November 2nd - if you have lost it, we will try and re-issue one for you, and if you have never filled in the brief questionnaire we will have some available at the Harvest family service for you to take away.

House Groups
It’s the start of the academic year and time to start thinking about developing your spiritual life; developing your knowledge of the Bible and coming closer to God and Jesus Christ.
How do you do that? Well, by joining a HOUSE GROUP. As an added bonus you will also get to know other members of the congregation much better. Also the opportunity to voice your joys, fears and views about life, Christianity, the church etc..
We are also looking for new leaders and hosts. As a leader you will be given advice on how to run a group. The qualifications are minimal and you do not need a “degree in theology”. As a host you are asked to provide refreshments and a suitable venue.
If you are interested in joining a group, becoming a leader or host, speak with Richard Barnard (Tel 769130).
