Housegroups

St Mary's has a number of different house groups meeting either in a morning or an evening at the homes of different church members. Under the guidance of a leader they study different topics, often following specific study material chosen by the groups. Some of the topics recently studied have included an Old Testament series called Grappling with God, St. Matthew's gospel, David, Elijah, Prayer in the Bible and Christian Decision Making. One group chooses a book each month, generally a recent work of fiction and studies this from a Christian perspective, often using study material from the Church Times.
These groups aim to be friendly, informal and unthreatening. They are much valued by those who attend who find them an excellent way to deepen their knowledge while getting to know people with whom they might otherwise not come into contact. The groups are flexible and ready to welcome newcomers who should first check with the organiser, Margaret Johnson on 01483 762481
