Baptisms

Parents who wish to celebrate the arrival of a baby with family and friends, and to have an occasion to share their joy may well feel they want to come to church to say “thank you” to God for the miracle of this precious new life, and to ask God’s blessing and help for the child as he or she grows up.

There are several ways to do this in church. The most usual are a Thanksgiving service and a full Baptism. Copies of both services are available for you to look at.

If you want to arrange a baptism, come to a service and introduce yourself to one of the clergy afterwards (the main Sunday service is at 10 a.m.). They will then fix up a time to visit you to discuss what you have in mind and answer any questions about baptism, godparents, the service, the church or anything else.
